About Monster Jam Detroit Tickets

The Monster Jam craze stared all the way back in the 1970s when the American Hot Rod Association decided to create an event where fans of monster trucks could see competitive matches between their favorite vehicles. At the start, these trucks were assembled using all sorts of material. People would go to junkyards to stitch together parts of trucks, cars and other vehicles to create these giant monsters that would take to the field against each other. The game has changed a lot since then as Hot Wheels took on licensing for the sport in the early 2000s and much more money was invested into it.

The monster trucks used in today’s sport have come a long way from the origins of the Monster Jam. They use the latest parts with the heaviest engines to create machines that would bring utter destruction on the field. Events are usually held in open fields and are broken in to two categories. These are freestyle and racing. The racing event pits two monster trucks against each other, with the first to get to the finish line qualifying and the loser being eliminated. This leads to an eventual winner who takes home the Championship trophy.

The freestyle event is more flexible. It gives each competitor 90 seconds, with an added bonus of 30 seconds to show their skills. Trucks jump over cars and buses, they spin around doing donuts, perform insane wheelies and basically get up to all sorts of madness. The freestyle event is judged by a panel of three people, who give points out of 10 on each driver’s freestyle driving. Anyone who wins both events is crowned the Double Down Champion and an even bigger trophy awarded to them. Only a handful of people have ever been able to win the Double Down Trophy.

The Monster Jam tour is one of a kind. It starts in late winter every year and goes all over the US and Canada. Performing in massive stadiums in a large number of cities, the event culminates at the Monster Jam World Finals at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. This final decides the winners and losers of the year and the stats are maintained throughout the monster tour.

What Monster Jam events give their crowds is simply not available at any other event. Not only do they get to see pure racing action, they also witness some of the craziest stunts ever performed from behind the wheel of a vehicle. The best thing about these events is that every fan and not just VIP members are allowed to meet and get to know their favorite drivers. A ‘pit party’ and autograph session is held after every event where the drivers mingle with the fans and they learn more about their favorite trucks.

Very soon, the Monster Jam will be at the Ford Center in Detroit. This 80,000 capacity arena has held massive events like the Super Bowl and WWE’s Wrestlemania in addition to holding 2-3 Monster Jam events a year. Every time the Jam visits Detroit, the Ford Center is sold out and chock full of people looking forward to the destruction and mayhem of the Monster Jam. This year is bound to be no different. People who want to catch this exciting action in Detroit this year just need to get their Monster Jam Detroit tickets and make their way over to the Ford Center soon.
