Whether you are planning your vacations, or thinking about the best option for your honeymoon, there can be hardly any place as interesting and exciting as Las Vegas. The city that literally never sleeps, promises not to disappoint anyone who wishes to have a good time!
A city that comes under the jurisdiction of Nevada State of the US, Las Vegas has its fame mostly as a resort for fine dining, shopping and last but not least, gambling! The city claims to be the Entertainment Capital of the World owing to the fact that it has a huge number of casinos and restaurants along with other hang outs. Among the most populous cities of the US, Las Vegas is ranked at number 28 with a population estimated to be around 583,756.
The area was officially given the status of a city in 1911, and it was not very late afterwards that the city’s population increased rapidly. Right from the beginning, the city somehow earned a reputation as a good entertainment venue, and with the passage of time gambling and other adult oriented modes of entertainment flourished in the city, a fact that gives Las Vegas its nickname as Sin City. The city has also attracted great attention in entertainment media like films and television.
An important part of the city is the Last Vegas Strip, the main boulevard of the city having a length of about 6.8 kilometers or 4.2 miles. The Strip runs mainly in the communities named as Winchester, Paradise and Enterprise that are generally unincorporated. Most of the prominent entertainment venues of Las Vegas are situated over or near the Las Vegas Strip, making it one of the landmarks of the city.
The city is located within the Mojave Desert of the Clark County, and it is due to this fact that the desert vegetation is commonly seen here. Its climate and weather is mostly sunny, and average temperature of the area is higher than many cities of the US, providing the tourists a chance to enjoy their vacation after running away from frost and snow stricken areas of the North America and Canada. Even winters in this area are generally mild and stay only for a short duration.
A huge number of former Hawaiian residents live in Las Vegas, making the city often called as the ninth island of Hawaii. It was estimated in 2002 that over 80,000 residents of Las Vegas were formerly Hawaiians. Apart from gambling and hotels, the city also offers great entertainment options for the whole family, including parks, joy rides, fine restaurants and tourist attractions. There are numerous hotels and accommodation facilities, providing rooms in abundance along with facilities like adjoining entertainment areas including easy access to casinos. In short, for anyone who can afford to spend some money for a pleasurable time, Las Vegas tickets promise some of the most exciting options to have some good time!
