About Chicago Sky

The team, which has not even completed a decade, unfortunately never got a chance for the WNBA Playoffs as yet. With its great season in 2007 when Chicago Sky ended up at the third pick, the team proved to be as competitive as any other top ranked team. It has some high goals which it is definitely going to achieve, as foreseen. Some new players joined the team in the year 2007 and Armintie Price was named as the ‘Rookie of the Year’ for the year 2007. In the year 2008, the team went through some changes such as the change in the coach and general manager, making Bo Overton the general manager and Steven Key the head coach and general manager. The exceptional players Sylvia Fowles, Rutgersstandout Epiphanny Prince and Kristi Toliver are the pride of the Chicago Sky Team. Fowles won a Gold Medal in the Beijing Olympics. Toliver, the outstanding player from the University of Maryland has got an impressive list of winning records. The team gradually improved a lot and a clear progress was noticed.

Allstate Arena is the current home stadium for the Chicago Sky. The team colors go exactly with the name; they are sky blue and yellow. ‘Sky Guy’ is the name of the mascot, which has become really famous. He is a fan of basketball since childhood and used to play it all alone if couldn’t find anyone else. He put all his efforts to invent a jack pack, which reflects his love for the sport and the Women’s Basketball team. Sky Guy travelled around the world with his jet pack in search of the best ladies basketball. He has seen many historic basketball events, including the first WNBA Game in 1997. He has travelled to many countries to watch basketball and ultimately decided to support the new basketball team of his home town, thus he became the ‘Sky Guy’.

The Allstate Arena is one of the best venues situated in the area of Rosemont. The previous home arena had a seating capacity of around 6000-7000 but the current arena has a capacity of 17,500. Thousands of fans from Chicago and vicinity enjoy the live sport of basketball. Detroit Shock and Indiana Fever are the most dominant rivals of Chicago Sky.  Watching a WNBA sport live is great fun and this promising team is definitely going to entertain you in the best possible manner.
