About Exhibition

Mexico recently played against another African rival, Nigeria in which they managed a 2-2 draw. They are determined to beat Ivory Coast in this friendly matchup and send a silent message to all their competitors just before the CONCACAF World Cup. However, this won’t be a walk in the park as the national team of Ivory Coast also called “The Elephants” currently ranks 12th in the International FIFA rankings and first among all the African nations. They have won the ‘Africa Cup of Nation’ of 1992 and have been the runner-ups of this championship twice in 2006 and 2012. They have also qualified for last two World Cups and their performance has seen a steady improvement in the last few years. The team is powered by some of the biggest names in football which include the English Clubs Players like Gervinho who plays for Arsenal FC and Yaya Toure, the midfielder for Manchester City. However, the most influential international star to their side is their captain, Didier Drogba. This Ivorian football star has a long list of awards; he is a two-time ‘African Footballer of the Year’ and last year his former club, Chelsea voted him as the club’s greatest player.

The match is extremely crucial for Mexico as it would serve as a key warm-up just before their CONCACAF qualifying matches with the national teams of United States and Honduras. Mexico has managed to qualify for every World Cup since 1994. They are regarded as the most successful team in their confederation which is the CONCACAF region. They hold nine Confederation titles and one FIFA Confederations Cup. Due to their superior performances they have also been invited regularly to compete in the South American Championships of Copa América.

The great showdown is scheduled to take place at the MetLife Stadium which is located in the Metropolitan Area of New York. This gigantic outdoor arena has a seating capacity of close to 81000 and is known for hosting some of the biggest events of the country.

This match would be the fourth of Mexico’s 5-game national tour of the U.S. Book your cheap Exhibition tickets now to be among the roaring fans and witness thrilling football action!
