About Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals are also referred to as the boys in blue, because it is one of the primary colors of the team. In most of their home games or even when they are away, the three team colors of royal blue, white and powder blue are always visible. In most games the boys are seen switching between white pants and white jerseys with royals splashed across their chests in blue, and sometimes grey pants with grey jerseys. The occasional blue jersey also does make an appearance from time to time. Since the mid nineties, the boys have been using a lion called Sluggerr as their mascot who can be seen encouraging the players and cheering the fans by throwing hot dogs into the stands on any game day.

The Kansas City Royals have been using Kauffman Stadium as their home ground for more than three decades now and have won countless games at the multipurpose venue. The stadium was built with an estimated cost of roughly three million dollars approximately. And after another two hundred and fifty dollars spent in renovations between 2007 and 2010, it can now seat more than forty thousand people on game days with room for many more to stand and still enjoy the proceedings. Since 2000, all the seats in the stadium are now blue reflecting the primary color of the host team. The Royals scored their first win here in their first match in April 1973 against the Texas Rangers. When the World Series was held here in 1980 for the very first time, the Royals played against the Philadelphia Phillies in the final game but lost out to the visiting team.  But when the World Series returned to the Kauffman Stadium in another five years time, the boys were all set to create history. They managed to win their first World Series Title and managed to create a record by being the only team to have won the coveted title even after losing out the first two games at home.

Over the past few year the boys in blue have not managed to win any major titles. But this year is going to be very different. And the cheap Kansas City Royals tickets are showing very good form this season. Their current roster features some very interesting names and some of the best players the team has seen in many years. Eric Hosmer who plays first base for the team won the AL Rookie of the Month title in July this year and before the start of the season was ranked the best first baseman in MLB. Then there is Mike Moustakas who plays third base for the Royals was listed as the eleventh best prospect in all baseball on the official website of MLB. Last year he received the honor of being the Texas League Player of the Year, and currently holds the largest hitting streak for a Royals player with a fifteen game hitting streak.

Also the team’s designated hitter Billy Butler’s name who plays first base for the team is the most chanted name during any game. He is mostly referred to as Country Breakfast by most fans, and in 2009 was the Royals Player of the Year, in addition to being American League Player of the Month in September that year. And there is Aaron Crow who represented his team in the All-Star Game earlier this year and is a fabulous pitcher. Under the guidance of Ned Yost who is teams manager the boys are all ready to take on any team this year and bring home the big cup. For all the fans of one of the most loved teams in American baseball, this is a chance to catch their favorite boys in action live in their upcoming game, so get your Kansas City Royals Tickets now.
