About South Florida Bulls

Football is a game requiring great skill as well as stamina. It’s a treat to watch your favorite team practice for the upcoming football season. South Florida Bulls offers you a unique opportunity to witness this great team polishing its skills!

South Florida Bulls are a Tampa, Florida based football team that started playing in 1997. They did not have any facilities in the beginning and used to hold meetings under a shade tree present in the school. The defensive coordinator of Kansas State named Jim Leavitt was made the first head coach of the team. In the year 2001, they moved from Division I-AA to Division I-A. Later in 2003 they joined Conference USA and in 2005 became a member of the Big East.

The Bulls received public admiration because of their outstanding performances. They were able to beat one of the best football teams present at that time which included Louisville, West Virginia and Auburn. The 2007 football season proved to be a very fruitful year for the Bulls as they entered into the AP Poll for the first time. From here onwards there was no looking back for this team. Initially they were placed at number 23 and were later upgraded to 18th position.  After beating West Virginia they moved up to 6th position and then to number 5 after defeating the Florida Atlantic University. With their win against the University of Central Florida the Bulls won second position. But the success was not for long as the South Florida Bulls lost three consecutive matches, as a result of which they no longer remained in the top rankings.

After some defeats the Bulls did not loose hope but decided to strike back with the same passion which had made them victorious previously. At the end of the season they were again included into the top 25 teams and won 21st position in the BCS standings and in the AP poll they secured 23rd position. South Florida Bulls appeared in a bowl game for the second time in the year 2006 and it proved to be their first bowl victory as they were able to beat the East Carolina Pirates in Bowl. Skip Holtz replaced Jim Leavitt as the head coach on 14th January 2010.

With a team having such a great stature and history playing, South Florida Bulls Tickets are sure to provide football fans the excitement and entertainment they deserve. It is always a treat to watch South Florida Bulls play owing to their great stamina and wonderful skill, but before the beginning of regular season, as they prepare to take off for a great season ahead, and practice with their new and old players, it is a pleasure to watch them play. Every year spring training events that involve South Florida Bulls attract a huge number of spectators to witness their favorite team practice for the season.
