Arkansas Razorbacks, also known as Hogs, is the name of a college sports team at the University of Arkansas in Fayettville Arkansas. The team took its name from the feral pig, though it was originally called The Cardinals till 1910. The term Arkansas Razorback applies to any of the sports teams at the University, including teams for men as well as women. The Arkansas Razorbacks are proud to be the only major sports team in the US with a porcine nickname as the University team agreed to use the Razorback Hog as their mascot. Currently the University of Arkansas consists of 19 varsity teams in total, including 8 for men and 11 for women in 13 different sports. Men's varsity sports include, basketball, golf, tennis, baseball, football, cross country, track and field whereas women's sports include cross country, golf, gymnastics, swimming soccer, basketball, diving , outdoor track, volleyball and softball. The Razorbacks play in the Division I (I FBS in football) of NCAA and are currently members of the Southeastern Conference (Western Division). Together, the men's and women's teams have enjoyed several victories, including the National Championships, and the Razorback women's teams in particular have won 17 SEC championships in total.

Arkansas Razorback's basketball history dates back to 1924. They first played in the Southwest Conference. Till yet, the Razorbacks have won 24 conference regular season titles, 6 trips to the NCAA Final Four, and a National Championship in the year 1994. They have also won a national championship for football in 1964. Over the years, Arkansas has developed exciting rivalries with LSU, Kentucky, Texas, Memphis and Florida. Those lucky Razorbacks who gained prominence in the NBA include Sidney Moncrief, Ronnie Brewer, Corliss Williamson and Joe Johnson.

Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville is the home ground of Razorbacks. The arena has a seating capacity of 19,000 and is the fifth largest on-campus basketball arena in the nation. There are other venues as well where the team plays other sports such as the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Occasionally the War Memorial Stadium is used for playing football. The Bud Walton Arena for basketball and the Baum Stadium at George Cole Field for baseball. The team colors for Razorback sports team are Cardinal and white and their different mascots are Pork Chop, Big Red, Boss Hog, Sue.E and Tusk.
