About Spring Training New York Mets

 

Associated members of the Major League Baseball, New York Mets are a team of trained baseball players. Based in New York City, the Mets play from the East Division of the National League. At the time of its establishment in 1962, the team replaced Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants; the two departed National League teams. The Mets played their home games at the Polo Grounds from 1962 to 1963, Shea Stadium from 1964 to 2008 and Citi Field from 2009 to date. The team in blue, orange and white won two World Series titles in 1986 and 1969; four NL Pennants in 1969, 1973, 1986, 2000; five East Division titles in 1969, 1973, 1986, 1988, 2006 and two Wild Card Berths in 1999 and 2000.

The team expects the new additions to influence their team mates in the locker room positively with their expertise.

 

The outfielder Curtis Granderson, Jr. has won the MLB All-Star thrice in 2009, 2011 and 2012. In 2011, he garnered the Silver Slugger Award. On the other hand, Bartolo Colón is a baseball pitcher. In 2005, Bartolo won the American League Cy Young Award. The third new star player, Christopher Brandon Young, is the center fielder for the team. In Major League history, Young became the first rookie to hit thirty runs and steal twenty-five bases. He won the ‘Appalachian League All-Star OF’ in 2003; ‘Baseball America 1st team Minor League All-Star OF’ in 2005; ‘Triple-A All-Star OF’ and ‘Baseball America 2nd team Minor League All-Star OF’ in 2006; ‘BET Major League Baseball Rookie of the Year’, ‘Diamondbacks Rookie of the Year’ in 2007 and ‘Diamondbacks MVP Award’ in 2010.
