Hamilton: A theatrical masterpiece

Hamilton is a theatrical masterpiece which is a brainchild of the famous actor, lyricist, playwright, composer and producer, Lin-Manuel Miranda who is credited for providing the music and lyrics to the show. He has also written the book of the musical. Based on the biography of Alexander Hamilton which is written by Ron Chernow, Hamilton made its off-Broadway premier in February of 2015 at The Public Theater and became a huge success. This production of the show was approved by the fans and won eight Drama Desk Awards including one for, ‘Outstanding Musical.’

Due to the show’s insane growing popularity, it was decided to give Hamilton its Broadway debut in the same year. The original Broadway production of the show was performed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on August 6, 2015 and starred Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton.      

A global hit

Since its Broadway debut, Hamilton has gone on to be performed in Chicago, Puerto Rico and San Francisco. It has also toured the United States twice in 2017 and 2018.
