Andrew Lloyd Weber is a famous composer and musical theater impresario. He was born in London in 1948. In 1981 he came up with another musical which was named "Cats". The musical was based on T. S. Eliot’s poems. This venture was produced at the New London Theater. The play was considered record breaking in its performance and stayed on stage for twenty one seasons. The musical was so famous that it played for more than 8000 times in London and more than 7000 times in New York City.

"The Phantom of the Opera" was another hit production that Andrew Lloyd Weber passed on to the public. The musical was based on a book written by Gaston Leroux. The play became one of the most successful shows of all time. An approximate number of eighty million people attended the musical and it earned 3.3 million dollars.

The dynamic artist was knighted as Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber in 1992. Moreover, he was also given the honorary peer title of Baron Lloyd Weber in 1997.
