Clue the musical has its book written by Peter DiPietro. The music of the play was composed by Wayne Barker, Galen Blum and Vinnie Martucci. The lyrics of the songs for the play were written by Tom Chiodo.

Clue the musical is based on the popular board game Clue. Since most of the people are familiar with the game, this raises their curiosity to see the play. The plot involves a mansion, in which a murder has taken place. Since several people are occupying the mansion at the time of the murder, a detective is called upon to solve the mystery. The murderer is eventually found by the drawing of cards by the audience. They select the murderer, the weapon used to commit the murder and the actual location where the murder took place.

The kitchen is occupied by the character Mrs. White. Mr. Green speaks of his woes in the billiards room. The ballroom shows Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard. Mr. Green is also shown in the lounge with Miss Scarlet. Professor Plum talks in the study how Mr. Boddy ruined the family wealth. These are all the characters of the play. As the play progresses, Mr. Boddy is murdered and the real mystery begins.

In Act Two, Mr. Boddy is found to be dead and the cause of death is unknown. He then takes on his role as the host of the play. The Detective is then introduced in the play and the amusing process of solving the mystery begins. The Detective interrogates all the suspects deeply and lets no one get away with anything. His sharp interrogation reveals the secrets of all the suspects involved, which adds to the drama of the play.

Clue the musical is a fun play which grips the audience’s attention from start to finish.
