The Baltimore Ravens were formed in 1996, which makes them one of the youngest teams in the National Football League. The Ravens have been a force to be reckoned with for the most part of their history. They qualified for the postseason for the first time in 2000, and it turned out to be a season to remember for everyone associated with the Ravens.

They started off by winning the division championship. The Ravens then beat the Raiders to clinch the AFC Championship. In the Super Bowl, they trounced the New York Giants 34-7 to lift their first Vince Lombardi Trophy. They repeated the feats of 2000 in 2012 to become the only side, apart from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to hold a 100% winning record in multiple Super Bowl appearances.

 The Baltimore Ravens’ two biggest rivals are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Because they more often than not compete for division bragging rights, the rivalry between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers is as intense as it gets. The Ravens and the Steelers have a long history. They are the only two sides from the AFC North to have got their hands on the Super Bowl. These two teams have also squared off four times in the postseason with the Steelers coming out on top in three of those encounters. The Ravens however came out on the right side of the result in their most recent playoffs meeting in the year 2014.

New England Patriots

The rivalry between the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots is a more recent one. It all began when these two teams squared off against each in a series of playoff encounters during the 2010s. It was on December 3, 2007 that the Ravens took on the Patriots at the M&T Bank Stadium. The Pats were 11-0 at that point and were overwhelming favorites to win the clash. The Ravens however had other ideas and they won the encounter 27-24. They have met each other in four postseason games too with both sides winning two games each.
