Grab your Houston Texans tickets and watch this exciting football team in action live during what should be an interesting campaign. The Houston Texans will be raring to go this season since they have not made it to the postseason in each of the last three campaigns. The time has come for them to bounce back and this is your chance to see them in action, live.
The Beginnings
Houston Texans revived the football scene in Houston after the Houston Oilers’ departure. The team couldn’t be Houston Oilers as the former franchise, now known as Tennessee Titans still held the rights. They later on retired the name Houston Oilers so that no other team could use it. The name Houston Texans was then selected from six narrowed down choices. The owner came up with these options after doing a research on the history of Houston and its role in the National Football League.
The Texans Begin to Make their Mark
The Houston Texas began to play for the first time in 2002 and notched up their first winning season in 2009 with a 9-7 record. They missed out on the playoffs by a narrow margin.
They did not waste too much time to get their hands on their first major championship though. The Texans went to the top of their division in 2011 and got their hands on the maiden division crown. That was followed up by another division title the next year. They also went all the way to the divisional playoffs round in both seasons.
After missing out on the division title over the next two seasons, the Texans once again roared back to life. Between 2015 and 2019, they won four division championships in five years. Unfortunately for them, they are yet to make the postseason since.
They will need the support of their fans to turn things around this season. If you are one of them, then book your Houston Texans tickets and root for your side live from the stands.

Houston Texans Rivals
The Houston Texans have rivalries with multiple teams like the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts.
The Tennessee Titans
The Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans have been going at it for over a decade and a half. There is absolutely no love lost between these two sides. The Titans used to be the Houston Oilers before and now the Texans are the city’s representatives in the NFL. When the AFC South was created, the Texans and the Titans became division rivals. The Titans have the edge in the head-to-head record. As of September 27, 2022, they have won 22 games compared to the Texans’ 18 triumphs during the Super Bowl era. These two sides have never met in the postseason though.
The Dallas Cowboys
The Houston Texans also have an intense rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys and the winner of the encounter between these two teams also gets the Governor’s Cup. They met for the very first time in 2002 and play each other after every four years. They also meet in the preseason of the campaigns during which they are not primed to face off during the regular season. As of September 27, 2022, the Cowboys have the edge in the head-to-head record as they have won 3 of the 5 clashes between them during the Super Bowl era. They have not played each other in the postseason as yet though but who knows that might change soon.
The Indianapolis Colts
The Houston Texans do not like the Indianapolis Colts and the feeling is mutual. The Texans had to wait a long time to beat the Colts at home. The wait ended in 2015 when the Texans finally triumphed 16-10 on December 20. The Texans then went on to win the next two games too against the Colts. Having said that, the Colts have a much superior head-to-head record between these two sides. As of September 27, 2022, during the Super Bowl era, they have played each other on 42 occasions and the Texans have managed to win only 9 of those encounters. The Colts have been victorious on 32 occasions. One game has ended in a tie. In the playoffs, the Colts lead the head-to-head 1-0.
