Forever Plaid Tickets

Forever Plaid is a musical penned by the famous Stuart Ross. Since it opened in New York for the first time in 1990, it has become one of the more successful Off-Broadways shows in the United States. The show is performed all over the world now and has become popular for its nostalgic element. The play features boy band music from the 1950s with songs from groups like “The Four Freshmen” and “The Four Aces”. Close harmony vocal groups are more prominently showcased but the most popular ones—such as the Beatles—have also received a significant place. Within the play, the band that truly personifies what the genre is all about is the Plaids. They are a group that wants to make it big in the music industry but struggle to find their place; a venture that could well end in tragedy. Audiences should definitely give this show a chance and purchase Forever Plaid tickets.

About Forever Plaid

The play is being put together by the “Cosmopolitan Cabaret” this time around. They have chosen Guy Stroman to be the choreographer and director this year. He is an ideal person for the job because he was part of the original cast when the show first played in New York. Personal factors aside, he is also an experienced director, having worked on a number of varied long running shows in the theatre world. Forever Plaid is one of the more prominent works that he will do at this point in his career.
The interesting element in the plot that people have resonated with is the fact that the Plaids return from the dead to have one more chance at superstardom. In their earlier struggles, they tragically saw their end when they were hit by a bus full of Catholic school girls while they were on their way to “The Ed Sullivan Show” where the legendary British band, “The Beatles” were making their American debut. The Plaids then perform songs that is bound to send the audiences down the memory lane, including “Three Coins in the Fountain”, “Catch a Falling Star”, “Magic Moments”, and “Love is a Many Splendored Thing”. Fans of the 50s and 60s music should definitely get Forever Plaid tickets.
The story begins with the lives of the four members of the group who live in different parts of the country but who come together to jam and have a good time as amateurs. They meet in a high school where they are all chosen to be part of the “audiovisual club”. The most they expected out of this ordeal was a gig at perhaps weddings, proms, or at different social events at country clubs. But soon enough, they begin to want much more from their lives as they look around at the success of other recording artists. They now dreamt of having the same status as their idols. They thus make fame and fortune their goal and begin to work to become well known stars.  The called themselves the Plaids and began to rehearse more rigorously in the basement of a plumbing factory. The only problem was; they were a vocal harmony group and America did not seem to be interested in such music anymore. They were inclining towards rock n roll more and more, and other artists like Johnny Cash or Elvis Presley were keeping up with it. So were the artists who came to America from across the Pond.
Their quest to achieve their goals became the focal point of their lives, leaving no room for leisure or even romance. They worked day jobs just so they could support their dreams of being pop stars. In addition to their menial jobs, they would perform at different clubs at night at jump at the chance of performing at weddings or proms. They received their biggest gig at the cocktail bar known as “Fusel Lounge” at “Airport Hilton”.
Their dreams come to an abrupt end in 1964. They were in a car, on their way to collect their own plaid tuxedos to go see the Beatles make American television history when they were hit by a school bus. The teens were rushing to watch the Beatles as well, but they escaped any harm. But the Plaids lost their lives instantly. Interestingly, this is the point where the play truly begins.
