The story of the book presents a young boy whose family doesn’t have a Christmas tree. At the stroke of midnight, as the boy’s parents fall asleep, a snowman appears outside the house. He introduces himself to the young boy and together the two share a quiet dinner. The magical snowman and the boy then embark on a journey to visit Father Christmas. The two characters take flight and fly all over the town and across the ocean. They then make their way to the arctic and into the auroras. They meet up with Father Christmas who gives the young boy a scarf. Making their way back to the boy’s house, when the young boy wakes up the next morning, the sun is bright and the snowman has melted. Mourning the loss of his dear friend, the boy puts his hand in his pocket, to discover the scarf Father Christmas had given him.
