This first version was choreographed and directed by Bob Fosse. In 2013, the musical was once again revived. The direction was given by Diane Paulus. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, this time around the choreography was taken over by Chet Walker.

Pippin, being adventurous, explores all possibilities the world has to offer. As the story progresses, Pippin must choose between what his heart wants and what he thinks he deserves. The show features impressive acrobatics and circus feats. The Leading Player and the troupe perform breath-taking moves as the musical progresses. The circus theatrics are handled by the co-founder of Les 7 doigts de la main, Gypsy Snider.


Since the reviving premiere at Broadway in 2013, the musical has garnered four Tony Awards, one Drama League Award, four Drama Desk Awards and five Outer Critics Circle Awards among others.
