Wicked Tampa Tickets

Wicked is one of the biggest musicals to emerge in recent years. After its premiere in 2003, the musical moved to Broadway where it has been critically acclaimed and become the tenth longest running show in Broadway history. Due to the success of the musical, it set off on a national tour of the US which allows audiences to get a feel of the Broadway experience right in their hometowns. The award winning musical is now coming to the Carol Morsani Hall – Straz Center in Tampa, Florida and you can visit the world of Oz and experience the magic by getting Wicked Tampa tickets.

Wicked premiered in 2003 in San Francisco and a few months later moved to Broadway. Since then, it has won over fifty major awards including seven Drama Desk Awards, three Tony Awards and a Grammy.

About the Show

Wicked provides a gateway to the magical land of OZ for the audience. The musical features lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz with a book penned down by Winnie Holzman. She adapted the story from the original novel written by Gregory Maguire. The show has been brilliantly directed by Joe Mantello, who won widespread critical acclaim.

The story takes the audience back to pre-Dorothy times in the Land of Oz where we meet two witches, Glinda and Elphaba. They meet for the first time at Shiz University where they have come to learn magic. Despite having personalities that are opposites of each other, they form a close bond. Elphaba is misunderstood but witty while Glinda is shallow but ambitious. Their lives, romantic and otherwise, take a sharp turn when they meet the Wizard of Oz. What ensues is a thrilling tale of good and evil.

Wicked on Tour

Wicked is now out on a nationwide tour under two banners. The touring cast that will visit Tampa is the ‘Munchkinland Tour.’ The touring cast features Alyssa Fox as Elphaba, Carrie St. Louis as Glinda, Kristine Zbornik as Madame Horrible and John Davidson as The Wizard.
