Show history
The music and lyrics for Wicked have been done by Stephen Schwartz whereas the book has been written by Winnie Holzman. The musical is based on a book titled Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West written by the renowned American novelist Gregory Maguire. The Broadway premiere was held in 2003 at the Gershwin Theater and continues to run with most of the shows sold-out. The West End premiere was in 2005 at Apollo Victoria Theater.
