Zac Brown - Born to Play Music

Zac Brown is playing classical guitar since he was seven years old. During his teenage years, Brown performed many solo performances in local clubs and venues. While in college, he finally made his band and continued to perform solo as well to pay for his studies. Soon Brown decided to become a full time musician and in 2002, he formed the Zac Brown Band. The band started off with a "Zac Brown Band Tour " and played 200 performances in just one year. Their music and live performances show the band’s deep passion for music. ZBB is one of few bands that have managed to stay away from commercialism and have instead focused on their work.

Major Impact

The band released the independent album, Home Grown in the year 2004 but it did not do too well. Their first major album release was The Foundation, which hit the stores in November of 2008.  The record put them on the map as a force to be reckoned with. It went five times platinum in the US and platinum in Canada. The Foundation earned the band their first Grammy nomination for the “Best Country Album.”

It was also nominated for Academy of Country Music Award for “Album of the year.” The hit tracks from this album include "Whatever It is," "Toes," "Where the Boat Leaves From," "Different Kind of Fine," "Violin Intro to Free," "Sic ‘Em on a Chicken," "Highway 20 Ride," and of course "Fried Chicken."

Meteoric Rise to Superstardom

The success of The Foundation paved the way for more super-successful studio albums for ZBB. Their next studio album, You Get What You Give, came out two years later and it peaked at the top spot in the US. The album went triple platinum in the country and also earned gold status across the border in Canada. Uncaged, their next album was released in 2012 and it went platinum in the US, a feat repeated by their 2015 record Jekyll + Hyde.

Zac Brown Band’s next two albums, Welcome Home (2017) and The Owl (2019) did very well on the charts too. Both records peaked at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 and climbed to number one on the Top Country Albums chart.

Accolades Galore

Zac Brown Band have won some of the biggest awards in the business. They have won the CMT Music Award, the Country Music Association Award, the Academy of Country Music Award, the ACM Award, and three Grammy Awards.

With the vaccinations being rolled out at a rapid pace, hopes are high that the end of the COVID-19 pandemic is near. The road trip is scheduled to kickoff proceedings on August 5, 2021 with a show at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel. From there, they are scheduled to travel to cities like Boston, Columbia, Nashville, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Tampa, and Charlotte among others.
