Peaking at two and thirteen on the Country Chart and the Billboard 200 respectively, the album eventually was certified as Diamond. This groundbreaking success was followed by No Fences in 1990 that turned out to be a country chart topper. The album included the single Friends in Low Places that became Brooks’ signature song. ‘No Fences’ also became his best-seller and second Diamond record.

His third album, Ropin’ the Wind, came out in 1991 and it topped the country and the Billboard charts. Following two albums Fresh Horses (1995) and Sevens (1997) became immensely popular due to their wonderful fusion of country and pop. Chart-topping singles She’s Every Woman and To Make You Feel My Love from the albums proved his flexibility to adapt to different music styles.
