The Used is made up of Dan Whitesides on the percussion and drums, Bert McCracken on the keyboards, piano and lead vocals, Jeph Howard on the backing vocals and bass guitar and Quinn Allman on the backing vocals as well as the guitar. Some of the previous members of the band include Dean Butterworth on the percussion and drums, Greg Bester and the rhythm guitar, and Branden Steineckert on the backing vocals and drums. Their music is based on various different genres and styles, but mostly focuses on the genres of emo, post hardcore, alternative rock and rock.

The Used have managed to sell more than three million copies of their albums all over the world, many of which have gone on to be certified platinum by the RIAA in the United States as well as in other countries. They started out by releasing their debut album on the 25th of June, 2002, which was named The Used. It has John Feldmann as its producer and contained various hit singles such as Blue and Yellow, Buries Myself Alive, The Taste of Ink, A Box Full of Sharp Objects and more. The record went on to achieve success and received a gold certification.

Following the success of their debut album, The Used embarked on a tour and played at numerous places and festivals, such as the Box Car Racer's tour, Projekt Revolution, the Ozzfest, the Wans Warped Tour and various more as well. The second full length studio record of the band was released shortly afterward. It was titled In Love and Death. It spawned numerous popular singles such as I Caught Fire, Hard to Say, Take It Away and many more as well. The album also gained them their first nomination at the Much Music Video Awards.

The Used issued a live double record on the 6th of February, 2007. It was titled Berth and it also featured a DVD that included several of their performances such as their Taste of Chaos show and more. It also featured a biography of the band along with some music videos. The album went on to become a massive hit and got a gold certification. Shortly afterward, the group went on another tour and performed extensively at various places.

The third studio album of The Used was released on the 22nd of May, 2007. It was titled Lies for the Liar and became a major hit soon after its release. The album went on to make it to the Top Five charts in over seven nations. Some of the most popular songs from the record are Paralyzed, Pretty Handsome Awkward, Liar Liar Burn in Hell, The Bird and the Worm and various more as well. The band continues to produce quality music and go on tours all over the world. The Used Announce 2020 U.S Tour

The Used recently dropped their new track “Blow Me” from their forthcoming project and fans are excited for more to come. The song features FEVER 333 vocalist Jason Aalon Butler. The new album produced by John Feldmann will mark their eight album release and is expected to arrive in 2020, though no official date has been confirmed yet. The band has also announced a US tour that kicks off on January 21 with a performance at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, California and culminates in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Crescent Ballroom. The Used is expected to play in intimate venues.  Joining them as support act is Dragged Under. Since they are playing in small rooms, tickets will be limited.
