About Franco Escamilla

The comedian from Mexico is mainly recognized for his comedy shows. He has already appeared in various locations throughout the Mexican Republic and Latin America and is now well on his way to starting his very own world tour that will see him travel to the US and Europe. For his contributions to the entertainment industry, he is widely known as the Mexican representative of Stand Up Comedy.

Escamilla started working as a performer in a bar called “Unicornio Azul” without the use of comedy. In the beginning, this proved to be quite difficult since capturing the audience’s attention became a concern for the artist. But soon, with the infusion of a few quick jokes here and there, Escamilla started establishing himself as a major player in the comedy industry. His show had three monologues: “How Hard it is to be Foreign”, “Sara” and “Regios en la Luna”. With the passage of time, Escamilla started becoming more attached to the world of comedy and managed to grasp the attention of wide audiences.

This is the time he developed his comedy style according to his talents and became known for his sarcastic, harsh and sour sense of humor. This black humor became a characteristic of his shows and stayed with him for a long time in his artistic career. Even though he tones it down sometimes and varies his humor according to the occasion, these qualities have become an inherent part of his performances.

As a musician, he debuted at the Trovafest in 2016 and also got a chance to perform alongside an Argentine band called Los Caligaris at the “Pa’l Norte” music festival in 2017. His own musical album was recorded in collaboration with Edgar Oceransky.

Along with music and comedy, Franco Escamilla also has a noteworthy presence on television. He has his own television program on the Estrella TV channel. The show is called “El Escamilla Franco”.

Along with being influenced by his father, Escamilla was also inspired by the comedian Oscar Burgos, who he himself called his “padrino”, thanks to the amount of support he received from him.
