Memphis The Musical Tickets

Memphis the Musical perfectly combines the elements of drama and emotions with the monumental events which took place in the history of Rock & Roll. The musical comes from the pen of the writer who gave Now Change, I Love You and You're Perfect, Joe DiPietro. The music for this play is given by David Bryan, who is also the founding member of a hit rock group, Bon Jovi. Christopher Ashley is directed the musical, and also received an award nomination for a Tony Award; and choreography is superbly handled by Sergio Trujillo.

Ever since its premier, musical has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. New York Post used the following words when reviewing the musical: "It's immensely gratifying. David Bryan's score works perfectly. Sergio Trujillo and Christopher Ashley wrap it all together with smart, brisk efficiency. Montego Glover is terrific. She lifts up the show and stops it dead in its tracks. Of Such Thrills, Broadway is made. After being staged at the North Shore Music Theatre in Massachusetts and Theatreworks in California in 2003; the musical found its way to La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, where it was staged from August 19, 2008 to September 28. From there, it was transferred to 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. The musical finally made its way to Broadway on September 23, 2009, when it was previewed at the Shubert Theatre, and later it was opened officially on October 19. The Broadway production was directed by Christopher Ashley while Sergio Trujillo took charge as the choreographer. The original Broadway cast members included Chad Kimball as Huey Calhoun, Montego Glover as Felicia Farrell, Derrick Baskin as Gator and J. Bernard Calloway as Delray.

Following the success of the original Broadway production, a US tour of the musical has also been announced this year, which would kick off in October 2011 at the Orpheum Theatre. On its tour, the musical will hit several venues all across the country.
