Two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Oremus is the music supervisor for the musical. He will be supported by Dave Metzger on orchestrations and Chris Montan as the music consultant.

The show is set to feature the same writers as the film, with music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Kristen Lopez, who also wrote songs for the movie. The storyline will be based on the book which was written by Jennifer Lee, who also co-directed the film. The Broadway musical will be a full-length stage work told in the format of two acts. Like other Disney theatricals before, this musical will also be a full evening of theater and is expected to run for two and a half hours.

After the death of their parents at sea, Elsa becomes the queen of Arendelle. She fears still, that the people of Arendelle would find out about her magical powers. In another incident involving Anna, Elsa accidently shows her powers to the world. This causes her to be labeled a monster. Distraught, she leaves the castle and goes off to a far away land.
