Real Salt Lake Tickets

Real Salt Lake were founded in the year 2004 as the twelfth MLS team. Dave Checketts led the consortium that ran the entire campaign to award Utah its own soccer team. The news was met with a lot of excitement among fans and the owners went to work immediately to put together a competitive roster.

The first player in the history of Real Salt Lake turned out to be Jason Kreis. The next few months were spent adding to the line-up. RLS stepped out on the soccer field as an MLS franchise for the first time on 2nd April, 2005 in a game against the "MetroStars." It ended in a draw with neither side being able to break the deadlock.

RLS then took on LA Galaxy next week but came up short by three goals to one. Their only goal was scored by Kreis who became the team’s first ever goal scorer. Then came 16th April, the date for their first game at home. Over twenty thousand fans bought Real Salt Lake tickets to be a part of the special occasion. The team didn’t let them down either and recorded a goal to nil win against the Colorado Rapids. The campaign overall didn’t deliver too much but that was expected since it was RLS’s first season.

The next few seasons didn’t go according to the script and that led to numerous changed on the coaching as well as the playing staff. Kreis then took over as the manager of the team during the season in 2007. The team showed signs of improvement and went on to make their postseason for the first time in their history.

Next season saw Real Salt Lake make their way to another playoff appearance. In the first round they went up against the defending MLS champions Columbus Crew. RLS upset the odds and came out on top to face Chicago Fire in the next round who were swept aside as well. They were now up against the LA Galaxy in the final of the MLS Cup. It turned out to be a humdinger of a game that went to penalties. Real Salt Lake won five four to be crowned MLS Champions.

They made it to the final of the CONCACAF Champions League but their form on the domestic front has blown hot and cold since their MLS triumph. They have now begun to pick up pace once again and signs point towards a bright future.
