The Dover International Speedway, nicknamed the “Monster Mile,” is a one mile oval race track. Ever since its inception in 1969, the racetrack has been home to at least two NASCAR races, making it one of the most used race tracks in the country. The track is exactly a mile long with a twenty four degree curvature on the turns and nine degree banking on straights. With a capacity to seat 135,000 people in the stands, it is the largest sports venue (in terms of capacity) in the mid-Atlantic.

The AAA 400 runs for 400 laps, making it a 400 mile race. Drivers drive in excess of 120 miles per hour, usually finishing the race in less than three and a half hours.
