The twenty thousand seating capacity, three years old, multipurpose indoor arena, the Prudential Center in Newark is the ideal place for the meeting of two strong ice hockey teams. The Carolina Hurricanes from Raleigh, North Carolina are the only professional team of the National Hockey League. They are also members of the Metropolitan Division of the league’s Eastern Conference.  The Hurricanes were shifted to North Carolina in 1997 and now will meet the New Jersey Devils. The New Jersey Devils were initially the Kansas City Scouts who were the professional team of the National Hockey League. They became the Colorado Rockies in Denver Colorado and then were shifted to New Jersey in 1982.

The first achievement that brought them to limelight was the Stanley Cup they got against Edmonton Oilers in the 2005-2006 season, long after the Hurricanes changed their name from Hartford Whalers.

The colors of the Hurricanes are red, black and white, and they play their home games at the PNC Arena till today. Peter Karmanos is the owner of the team and has employed Jim Rutherford as the general manager. Kirk Muller is the head coach and Eric Staal is the famous caption.
