About Andre Philippe Gagnon

Born at Loretteville, Quebec, this Canadian comedian gained instant recognition in 1985 when he first mimicked the famous charity song We Are The World on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.” Prior to his presentation at the show, he had already performed the same song at the Just For Laughs festival at Montreal, and this paved the way towards reaching out a viewership of 15 million audiences instantly. Public demand was so huge that he was called upon by Victories de la Musique in Paris and to the gala Cinema Chante in Gstaad, Switzerland for a similar performance.
After a triumphant exposure abroad, Gagnon’s first tour in his home province went exceptionally well setting an all time record of selling 21000 tickets in only 3 hours. He continued to give blockbuster performances throughout the United States and his fan following kept on growing. This was just the beginning. Later during the year, he was watched by 22 million audiences across Europe when he appeared as a guest on a French TV show alongside with Lionel Richie. So in less than two years, he not only became the most sought after on-stage comedy performer but also a well acclaimed television star across North America and Europe.
The late 80s also saw the great Quebecer becoming one of the youngest ones to host The Junos Awards in Toronto, tours and performances in Brisbane and Australia, and the opening ceremony of Calgary’s Olympic Winter games. In addition to such an outright triumph, he had won three Felix trophies at the ADISQ Gala and the Best Comedy Show of the Year Award as well. Another great honour went towards Gagnon’s already highly famed life when the Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney invited him to perform for Prince Charles and Lady Diana during a gala night held in their honour.
Gagnon was the man in demand in the 1990s for several television shows and live performances. Once again he bagged a super performance to his credit when he performed a series of 36 lined-up nights at the Theatre Saint-Denis in Montreal.  The 90s era was full of performances both nationally and internationally with a special mesmerizing presence at Europe. He became an integral part of the Royal functions and a prominent impressionist at a series of stints at  Las Vegas. By this time he had 400 voices to play around with and millions of his fans booked his show tickets way before every show. By 2004-05, in United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean his voice had become the voice of all seasons as his fans wanted to hear him and get some of the best entertainment in the world.
Going ahead in a fast paced momentum, Gagnon prepared a new show in his home province by the name of “Andre Philippe Gagnon De Retour”. This show was a mega success and earned the Oliver Trophy for the best selling comedy show of the season. The multi-talented Gagnon has also stepped into field of comedy writing. His recent live phenomenon includes a reproduction of Santana’s guitar solo on Black Magic Woman and Elton John’s Your Song in the same piano playing style is simply incredible.  He steals the evening with the charm of his voice and his spontaneity is remarkable.  He is the man whose show’s tickets are sold out before time.
