He was particularly inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan from his early days and it was after watching Stevie play that he asked his father to get him the guitar. From his father’s record collection, who was a local radio personality, Kenny would try to work out Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Albert Lee licks. Studying the masterworks he developed his own individualistic style that got him success later. He was only thirteen when he decided to pursue his passion for music. It was when he shared the stage at New Orleans with local guitar legend Bryan Lee that he decided to take his music seriously. The performance in front of a live crowd and an encouraging response gave him the confidence to follow his dream. Soon he formed his own band and started performing at clubs and festivals. Demo tapes were made. His demo video at a festival in Shreveport was what got him the multiple album record deal with Giant Records.
