Archie Marshall who is better known as King Krule was born in London, in 1994. He grew up studying at the Forest Hill School after which he joined Brit School in 2008. After the completion of his studies he started playing music locally under the moniker of Zoo Kid, before changing it to King Krule. The name King Krule was inspired by "King K. Rool", a character from Donkey Kong Country. Before releasing his debut album in 2010, the artist was seen coming forth with his first single titled "Out Getting Ribs" a few months earlier. The album that came out later was self-financed by Marshall and named "U.F.O.W.A.V.E." His album featured sounds of dubstep, new wave and darkwave. as Among Marshall’s influences are The Penguin, Gene Vincent and Fela Kuti.

After the success of "U.F.O.W.A.V.E.", King Krule released a single named "Out Getting Ribs/Has This Hit 7", a remix of his debut single at the end of 2010. This single was released by House Anxiety Records." In 2011, King Krule presented his fans with an EP titled "King Krule EP" that came out via True Panther. This was followed by another single named "Rock Bottom/Octopus 12" released through Rinse Records. His most recent album "6 Feet beneath the Moon" came forth in 2013. The album presented a total of fourteen tracks that include songs such as "Easy Easy", "Border Line", "Has This Hit?" and "Foreign 2." Rated three out of five stars by the critic publication The Guardian, King Krule’s latest release was a big hit. His track releases and singles have garnered several invitations to festivals such as Hyeres Music Festival and Dockville Festival. Marshall was also included in BBC’s Sound Poll of 2013. The first venue that hosted an event of the singer is the Bowery Ballroom located in Manhattan, New York City. Built and inaugurated for the public in 1997 the music venue was shutdown back in 1929. The Bowery Ballroom is currently owned and operated by The Bowery Presents. With a seating capacity for almost eight hundred attendees, the facility presents a standing room environment.

The second venue hosted a concert by King Krule is the Echo and Echoplex that is situated on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles. Celebrating its tenth anniversary this season, the venue is a nightclub and music facility that can cater to over three hundred and fifty people. Over the years this popular venue has played host to some of the popular artists and groups including Beck, Cold Cave, Dntel, Nite Jewel, Maria Taylor, the Decemberists, Fool’s Gold, an Albatross, the Rolling Stones, the Violet Lights, Foster the People, Air Traffic and Say Hi.
