The soul singer Kem Owens is now coming to your city, to take you on an awe inspiring journey. He is one of the few people who not only have their songs to inspire but their life is an uplifting tale of will and determination. Kem was interested in music since his childhood, though drugs and foster homes took him away from his childhood passion. After living under the dark shadows for years, Kem cleaned up nicely to emerge as one of the top rated artists of the contemporary RnB world.

Kem Owens was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1969 but was raised in Detroit. His early years of life were spent dealing with homelessness and addiction. But after being thrown out of foster homes several times, he leaned on spirituality and his passion of music. Kem’s music is his way of spreading spirituality to the people listening to it. He takes pride in how his spirituality has given him a boost in life and career as well. He is now signed by Motown and is involved in various facets of music including singing, songwriting and music production.
He describes his music as Jazz and soul though he has ventured into RnB as well. His music is not for the hip-hop prone commercial music listeners but is for those who have an affinity for Jazz and adult contemporary. His songs have meat in it, as the lyrics invoke a thought or convey a message rather than meaningless rant about drinking, sex and drugs. He has been performing professionally for almost a decade and has released three successful studio albums.
His first album titled as Kemistry was released in the late nineties. It was a self released album and he paid for it by waiting tables and singing at the weddings. The album didn’t let his efforts go to waste as it landed him in to a record deal with Motown Records. Motown records re- released the album and sold over 500,000 copies all across the US. The album was written by Kem, featuring tracks like Matter of Time, You Are, Miss You, Love Calls, I'm Missin' Your Love, Say, Brotha Man, Inside, Cherish This Moment and This Place.
His next album release was Album II in 2004 by Motown once again. The album was co produced by Carlos Gunn and Kem. It was classified as Jazz, RnB and soul album, which is Kem’s forte. It features amazing tunes like Find Your Way, I Get Lifted, Into You, Heaven, Without You, I Can't Stop Loving You, You Might Win, I'm in Love, Each Other, Set You Free and True Love. The album was a huge success rated as gold by the RIAA certification. It was also included in all the major charts of the country especially Billboard. The single I Can’t Stop Loving You was the most successful single of the album and gained a lot of appreciation in the adult contemporary music world.
His final album release was Intimacy: III and came into the market in the mid of 2010s. The album followed the same pattern like his previous albums, falling into the RnB genre. It debuted at number 2 on the Billboard charts and sold over 2 million copies in the US alone. The track listing of Intimacy was Why Would You Stay, Share My Life, Golden Days, Human Touch, When I'm Loving You, Can You Feel It, A Mother's Love, Love Never Fails, Why Would You Stay, If It's Love and You're On My Mind. The album was produced entirely by Kem with an exception of a duet with Maurice Rose "If It’s Love" and Jill Scott’s spoken word, Golden Days.
KEM has slowly but surely carved out a name for himself over the years to become extremely popular among fans that love his classic R&B and soul music. He will now be heading out on the road with the legendary Charlie Wilson for his “Forever Charlie Tour.” It will also feature performances by Joe Thomas. The eight day long road trip began in Indianapolis on the 11th of June and will go on till the 21st of June when it will come to an end in Columbus, GA. In addition to these dates, KEM will also be performing in three music festivals on the 27th of June followed by two on the 3rd and 25th of July. This soul artist is now coming down for a series of concerts in your city. You can get your soul connected to the spirituality he has found by attending his live performances with your Kem Tickets.
