The best singles from the album have been Waking Up in Vegas, I Kissed a Girl, Thinking of You and Hot n Cold. Her single "I Kissed A Girl" ruled the Billboard Hot 100 Charts for more than seven weeks. She was nominated in the Grammy Awards twice as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for this album. She won a Brit Award as the International Artist of 2009, along with Billboard Year End Charts Awards.  The success of this album has made her one of the best selling pop artists in various parts of the US and UK. She was also featured in a movie "Get him to the Greek" where she was seen with her fiancé Russell Brand. 

Her second studio album "Teenage Dream" has been released in 2010. The album is yet again a Capitol record release. The album cover has made her the ‘Cotton Candy Princess’ over the cloud nine. This album is extremely popular with top rated pop singles such as California Gurls, Teenage Dream and Firework. All of these singles have been at the number 1 spot on the Billboard Charts. These singles have been nominated in the Grammy Awards for their exceptional vocals.  She keeps the same style as seen in her previous album, focusing majorly on pop, but also retraces her steps as a soul singer in songs like ‘Firework’.
