Judas Priest is a Birmingham-based heavy metal rock band whose music has influenced the bludgeoning drumbeats and crass guitar riffs of the musical style that is known as ‘heavy metal’ today. The band has experienced an in-and-out shuffling routine on part of its members being currently headed by lead vocalist Rob Halford, bassist Ian Hill, guitarists Richie Faulkner and Glenn Tipton, and drummer Scott Travis. They came together in 1969, when there was no concept of metal; instead, such music would be listed under the progressive or heavy rock genres, not yet having found an identity of its own.
Over the years the rockers have sold more than fifty million record copies and is ranked among the greatest metal bands of all times. If you’re interested in watching their thrilling live performance, then quickly book your Judas Priest tickets.

Judas Priest’s “50 Heavy Metal Years” Tour Adds Fall Dates
After wrapping up a successful first leg of “50 Heavy Metal Years Tour,” Judas Priest is currently on the European leg. Celebrating 50 years of excellence in heavy metal, members Ian Hill, Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Scott Travis, and Richie Faulkner added another feather in their cap in 2022 – Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Now, the legendary band has announced new fall dates for their “50 Heavy Metal Years Tour” and the North American leg includes more than 25 stops. A double treat for heavy metal fans, icons of progressive metal QUEENSRŸCHE will also be hitting the road alongside Judas Priest.
According to the information released on Judas Priest Fall 2022 Tour Dates with Queensryche, the trek will kick off from Wallingford on October 13 and run through till November 29, with the final concert taking place at the 713 Music Hall in Houston. In between Judas Priest will perform in Boston, Detroit, Green Bay, and Dallas, among others.
With a new album in process, lead vocalist Rob Halford shared that, “As Priest is in its sixth decade, the music that we’ll make now will probably represent that.” He further added, “You can never have enough songs when you’re making an album.”

Judas Priest is responsible for introducing and developing the heavy metal sounds through their bold experimental genius, thus rightfully earning the title ‘Metal Gods’. Their lyrical content revolves around the themes of sex, fantasy, independence and sometimes science fiction. They have won much critical acclaim for modernizing the twin lead guitar techniques which, alongside Halford’s wide vocal spectrum, have given the band its distinct metal style.
Judas Priest had to struggle their way to mainstream popularity since the albums from their initial years did not strike that visceral connection with a wider audience. It was not until their performance at the 1975 Reading Festival, coupled with the release of their album Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, that they gain some popularity through the songs Victim of Change and Whiskey Woman. Their next album Sin after Sin 1977 spiraled their name into commercial success with the hit songs Stained Class, Killing Machine and Beyond the Realms of Death. Consequently, the band recorded its very first live album while touring in Japan, which was called Unleashed in the East. The songs on this album were relatively shorter but had the same punching metal-quality drumbeats, winning Judas Priest extensive commercial acclaim and driving the album to the much-worshipped rank of Platinum. Furthermore, their albums Screaming for Vengeance, Painkiller, Angel of Retribution, Nostradamus and A Touch of Evil: Live, have all been noted for being fiercely successful. In fact, in 2008 the single Visions from Nostradamus was Grammy-nominated for best hard rock performance and then in 2009, the song Dissident Aggressor from A Touch of Evil won the Priest a Grammy Award for best metal performance. In 2010, MTV dubbed Judas Priest the 2nd biggest metal act after Black Sabbath while VH1 had declared them to be the 78th greatest artists of all time.
Judas Priest are critically better known for modernizing the eponymous twin lead guitar techniques that are so amply applied in the world of heavy metal today. They introduced the stronger metallic guitar sounds, varying tempos within the same song going from loud speedy to slower softer tunes. Their album Screaming for Vengeance released in 1981 comprised of the famous radio-hit You’ve Got Another Thing Comin, which considerably influenced the speed metal structure. Through Turbo, in 1986 the band experienced the well-received debut of their newly created sound called synth-guitar which furthered the many sound techniques in their heavy metal spectrum.
Among the heavy metal aficionados, Judas Priest’s contribution to creating the trademark metal attire comprising of metal-studded leather jackets and silver capes, is undoubtedly well established. Their show often always extensively features their logo of three-pronged forks, background smoke, red, yellow, purple laser lights, devil horns, chunky-clunky steel chains, and saw-like wheels all coming together to demonstrate a super opulent heavy metal statement. Another outstanding feature of their metal style is the Harley-Davidson motorbike, which is not only featured on their many portraits but Rob Halford famously rides it on stage. Many hard core fans will never let the 1991 Toronto show incident slip their memory when Halford, while riding the bike on stage, collided with the drum riser buried behind heaps of dry ice mist. Notwithstanding his injury, he painstakingly performed the complete concert before going to the hospital thus establishing his unquestionable dedication to putting on the good show that only the Judas Priest tickets promise.
In 2010, reminiscing after their glorious 40-year career, Judas Priest announced their Farewell Epitaph World Tour that would stretch all the way from 2011 through 2012, with set-lists that include at least one song from each of their albums. The band recently released a compilation album in 2011 called The Chosen Few, which proudly presents a collection of Judas Priest classics selected by band-members of Black Sabbath, Lamb of God, Metallica and the like. So recharge your batteries and prepare for the mind blowing show those Judas Priests tickets will treat you to.

One of heavy metal's all-time greats Judas Priest have unrolled a slew of dates for later this year. The "50 Heavy Metal Years Tour" was announced in 2020, but due to the pandemic the band was forced to postpone the celebration of their 50 years of music. Judas Priest tickets bought for original dates will remain valid for the rescheduled ones. So all metal fans brace yourself for a blistering performance from the British metal gods this fall. The trek kicks off September 13 at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina, and comes to an end on October 30th, 2021. The final performance is scheduled at the Foxwoods Casino Arena in Ledyard, Connecticut. More concerts are expected to be announced soon.
