Chase Rice spent his early childhood days in a farming community in North Carolina. An avid sports fan, he became a football player in high school and even received a football scholarship from the University of North Carolina. Weighing in at around two hundred and fifty pounds and standing over six feet tall, Rice became the star linebacker for his college team. However an injury forced him to give up on his dreams of playing professionally in the NFL.

After graduation and with his NFL dreams in tatters, Rice joined one of the most successful teams on the NASCAR circuit, the Hendrick Motorsports. He worked with NASCAR veterans Ryan Newman and Jimmie Johnson and was even involved in multiple championship winning sides. It was another lifetime dream that he fulfilled but after a few years, Rice became disenchanted with the job and decided to work on his singing career.

Before he began developing his musical talents, he was offered a part on the reality TV show called the Survivor. He was selected for their twenty first season to be shot in Nicaragua and cites it as an important part of his learning. The show taught him about resilience and dedication which helped him when he made his way to the entertainment industry. Rice was a fairly popular contestant on the show and managed to come second, missing out by only a few votes.

Chase Rice?s first foray in to the music industry came with his debut album ?Country as me.? Released in 2011, it went in to the Billboard top fifty in the first few weeks of its release. This was followed by two more albums, ?Dirt Road Communion? in 2012 and ?Ignite the Night? in 2014. The latter has been Chase?s most successful album to date having debuted on the number one spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart and third on the Billboard Top 200. The single ?Ready Set Roll? became his most successful single to date, debuting at number eight on the country charts. Rice has had a single debut at number one as well but it was when he co-wrote a song, ?Cruise? which was performed by the band Florida Georgia Line in 2012.

Chase Rice is now an established and well respected country music star. However, he did not take the conventional route to stardom. He chose not to sign a record deal with a production company and decided to start his own to keep creative control over every song and album he comes out with. He also uses his own money to fund his album recordings, live shows and merchandise. A lot of people might see this as a big risk but Rice has proved that if you are true to what you believe in, anything is possible.
