About Muse


It would be unfair to start the tale of Muse with their love for the alternative rock of the 90s and classical music from the twentieth century because it wouldn't do much justice to what the band is all about. Coming from a background of classical and alternative rock there were huge changes that Matt could have turned into an opposite direction becoming a mushy retro artist rather than the rock music that he came out with. With so many upcoming and modern rock bands that have given up on trying out hitting new areas and dimensions it is as if Muse is hell bound on consistently attacking their genre of music. Enthusiastically headed by a trio of an exceptional caliber, tremendous talent and unparalleled skills, the lead vocalist Ballamy with Dominic Howard on the drums and Chris Wolstenholme on the base, the band is breaking all grounds in exploring the genre believing in no restrictions and a continuous effort to produce the best sounding fusion. Having the nerve to do all of this they have turned out to be one of the best and the least humdrum bands on the face of this planet. Much to the pleasure and bafflement of their fans Muse has a record of consistently making music that crosses all boundaries of ones imagination.

It was in 1998 when Muse gave their debut "Showbiz" an EP defining their initial purpose. Backed by a huge advertising and marketing campaign the album hit the UK like a storm turning the three amateurs into the new rock stars. The album did them so good that Muse began to be compared with the famous Radiohead but not too much to there liking. It was after the success of their debut that they came be known as the 21st Centuries first greatest guitar band with a lot to offer. While traveling for the promotion of "Showbiz" the band wrote some new songs for their next album "Origin of Symmetry" that further strengthened their feet at a larger stage. With their next smashing hit album "Absolution" Muse gave the listeners some of the best sounding guitar and compositions. Absolution is also considered by some as an album with massive sound owing to the usage of one brand of guitar unlike the older albums.

As they finished their world tour in 2005, the band headed towards making some more music that took the shape of their next album "Black Holes & Revelation". What was recorded in France in a countryside chateau, "Black Holes & Revelation" though took a lot of time in recording; is once again a smashing hit by the band. Known to have done something different in each of their albums, Muse moved on to record an orchestral album, their fifth album, "The Resistance". One of the songs in the album is also named "United States of Eurasia" as the band by now are a big name not just in UK but US as well not even that in the world in fact. Five albums down and many more to come, Muse who is persistent on making their music as a prism defining the world to them, there seems like there is no stopping them.
