Back in 1963, the Notre Dame Jazz Festival brought composer, pianist and arranger, Bob James into the limelight. His career would flourish over the next five decades, making close to 60 releases. He would collaborate with greats like Grover Washington, Jr., Creed Taylor, Hank Crawford and many more and rack up an attic full of awards. Another beneficiary of their tribute is Paul Desmond, the saxophonist who collaborated with Brubeck.
