Billy's desire to pursue ballet seems extravagant in the face of the miners' poverty and struggle for their rights. This heart-warming drama is grounded in the all too real world of economic strife, despite which, a promising young artist is nurtured by a community of middle-class workers who consider him a star in their midst.
