Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal in Dance Me
BJM in Dance Me is coming to the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in September 2018. Featuring the legendary tunes of Leonard Cohen, the show will have a beautiful amalgamation of Canadian dance and musical prowess. BJM will be exploring the musical works of Leonard Cohen and will play an incredible homage to the late singer-songwriter’s influential work.
Dance Me will bring to stage the work of three amazing choreographers, each with their own style – Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Ihsan Rustem and Andonis Foniadakis. All three choreographers will bring to life the music of Cohen in an aesthetic kinetic performance.

Alberta Ballet’s The Sleeping Beauty
If you happen to be a fan of the classics, this mesmerizing performance would be right up your alley. The timeless classic will be brought to life by Christopher Anderson, with the help of Tchaikovsky’s score at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. Anderson will transport the audience right in the middle of the kingdom that fell asleep for hundred years, after a curse by a wicked fairy. As the storyline unfolds, Princess Aurora pricks her finger on her sixteenth birthday and falls deep asleep, along with the entire kingdom. She and her kingdom can only be saved by a true love’s kiss.
Adding drama to the storyline will be the amazing score and some of the most outstanding classical dance that is the pride of Alberta Ballet. You would not want to miss this mesmerizing retelling of a great classic tale.

About Alberta Ballet
The Alberta Ballet was created by Muriel Taylor and Dr. Ruth Carse in 1958. The company became official in 1966 and has since been the pioneer of artistic dance forms. The current Artistic Director of the company is Jean Grand-Maitre, widely acknowledged as one of the most outstanding choreographers of his generation in Canada. He has a vast amount of experience in staging different kinds of dance and theater and has also made special creations for festivals, film, musicals, opera and television. His selection of dancers and development of the programs has enabled Alberta Ballet to perform multiple kinds of dance routines.
Chris George, the Executive Director of Alberta Ballet is the other half of the company’s management structure. His vision and strategies have helped the company become dynamic and more according to the 21st century business landscape. His long-term plans for Alberta Ballet are focused on continuously creating premier live dance experiences for a wide variety of audiences in Canada.
Prior to his work with Alberta Ballet, Chris has worked for the community with the Canadian Red Cross, working on issues such as HIV prevention, child abuse prevention and disaster management.
