About the Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards were formed back in 1961 as the Chicago Packers. It wasn’t until 1997 when the professional basketball team became the Washington Wizards, before which it went by several names, such as the Chicago Zephyrs (1962), the Baltimore Bullets (1963) and finally the Washington Bullets (1974). As the Chicago Packers, the team’s inaugural season ended with it claiming 18 wins to 62 losses. It picked pace in the following year as the Chicago Zephyrs with a 25-55 season end score.
