The UNLV Rebels, from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, UNLV, is one of the foremost college sports athletics program in the US, having won various National championships and countless other titles in many sports. The UNLV Rebels various sports teams play within the Mountain West Conference except for the men’s soccer team which is part of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. These teams are part of the NCAA Division I with the football teams playing in the Football Bowl Subdivision championship within Division I. The present athletics director of the UNLV Rebels is Jim Livengood and the university alongwith its many teams are located at Paradise in the US state of Nevada. There are a total of sixteen varsity teams; nine of them women’s teams and seven of the men’s teams. The football teams can be found playing at the Sam Boyd Stadium, the men’s basketball team at the Thomas & Mack Center with the women’s basketball team playing at the Cox Pavilion.

The UNLV Rebels can be caught live in action at various venues including at home through the use of UNLV Tickets; these guarantee some of the best college sports ever seen live. The official mascot is Hey Reb! with the teams fondly nicknamed as the Rebels. The main rivals of the UNLV Rebels are the Wolf Pack from the University of Nevada in Reno with both universities being the two biggest colleges in the US state of Nevada. The best known game between these two universities is the so-called Battle for Nevada, a football match with the winner receiving the Fremont Cannon. This trophy is an original 19th century howitzer that is regarded as the most expensive as well as the largest trophy in college football.

The UNLV Rebels have made and broken records made times; a famous game in which the UNLV Rebels brutally defeated the Blue Devils from Duke University is still remembered by sports fans. The UNLV Rebels won this with 103-73 and then went on to win the NCAA National Basketball Championship. Aside from that, the UNLV Rebels men’s golf team has won not one but two National Championships, the men’s tennis team has also won two National Championships and the women’s track and field team has also won two National Championships.

The UNLV Rebels was regarded as one of the greatest teams in NCAA Division II football before the team jumped over to Division I FBS. Within the world of college football, this football team is one of the few undefeated teams when it comes to bowl games, wining two Las Vegas Bowls and one California Bowls. The UNLV Rebels football team has also won two Big West Conference Championships. Other honors include nine All-Americans and nine Big West Conference MVPs. The basketball team is the best UNLV Rebels team and has been ranked by ESPN as the eighth Best Men’s College Basketball Programs out of three hundred teams making this team one of the top ten in the US in college basketball, definitely a must see live by basketball fans through UNLV Tickets.
