The Beginning

The history of monster trucks dates back to the 1970s when they were mostly used for truck pulling competitions or to get over major obstacles. Some years later, the owners of these trucks began holding truck racing competitions among themselves during which they performed some very daring driving stunts. Such events soon began getting popular and it wasn’t long after that they caught the attention of an event promoter. Bob Chandler was one of the first truck owners to demonstrate his skills of car crushing for a crowd. Later USHRA expanded such events into a professional competing sport.

Competitions

The Monster Jam shows consist of two major kinds of competitions; one is the Freestyle round while the other is the Racing round. In the Freestyle round, each truck driver is given ninety seconds (with thirty bonus seconds) to perform as many and as daring stunts as possible while crushing the obstacles on the track.

Pit Party

The ‘Pit Party’ is the fans’ most favorite part of the event. This is because it gives them the chance to meet the stars of the show and have a close look at their favorite monster trucks.
