Miami Hurricanes Tickets

Date & Time
The Miami Hurricanes represent the University of Miami in various college sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. They play in the Atlantic Coast Conference's Coastal Division and enjoy an extensive fan base in the region. Among all the athletic programs offered at the University of Miami, men's football and basketball are considered to be its major sporting programs. In these two sports, they can truly act like a hurricane, wreaking havoc on the opposition in no time.

The Miami Hurricanes football team played its first season in 1926, and since then, the university's football team has made the university proud on numerous occasions, especially in 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991, and 2001, when the team managed to win Division I National Championship Titles. The team has also proved its excellence on many other occasions and continues to do so. After achieving the feat of capturing five national championship titles, Hurricanes managed to take fourth place in the Associated Press National Poll Championships.

The Miami Hurricanes completely outdid themselves when they held the longest winning streak for their home games. Hurricanes maintained an impressive streak after winning 58 consecutive games. Hurricanes also have the prestige of having two players who won the Heisman Trophy, as well as six former team players who were inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Hurricanes have a long history of producing talented players who went on to become famous as they started playing in Major League teams; in fact, two of them even earned the title of Super Bowl MVPs. Currently, the team plays its home games at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, which has a capacity of 76,500 fans. Randy Shannon is the current coach of the team and has been for the past three years.

The Miami Hurricanes football team has a fierce rivalry with Florida and Florida State. Every time any one of these teams goes up against the Hurricanes, the matchup turns out to be an epic encounter. To further intensify the competition, the Florida Cup is given to the team with the best record. Ever since this tradition began in 2002, Miami has claimed three out of four trophies. Apart from Florida, the Hurricanes also have a noted rivalry with Notre Dame, and their encounters also make for a thrilling experience.

The Miami Hurricanes' men's basketball team has been nothing short of amazing. Over the years, they have produced a number of top-notch basketball players, some of whom are currently playing in Major League teams, while former Hurricanes team member Rick Barry has been honored with an induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

At the end of the 1971 season, the University of Miami decided to discontinue their basketball program for various reasons. The Hurricanes began representing the University of Miami on the basketball court again in 1985, and they continue to do so today. Initially, the team struggled with their performance after the revival, but with the arrival of Leonard Hamilton as head coach, the Miami Hurricanes emerged as a better team on the court. After joining the Big East, Hamilton led the team to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, as well as a Sweet 16 appearance. Hamilton was later replaced by Perry Clark, who did not bring much success to the team and was eventually replaced by Frank Haith. In their previous season, the team managed to achieve a winning record, giving hope to their fans for the coming season.
