About LMFAO Far East Movement

The first half of the LMFAO Far East Movement concert is the hip hop dance duo, LMFAO. It consists of REDFOO and his nephew Sky Blu, real names Stefan Gordy and Skyler Gordy. They are signed to the record company that came as collaboration between Interscope and the “will.i.am Music group”. Although they had already released an EP that contained their known hit songs like “I’m In Miami Bitch” and “Outta Your Mind” and earned them a Grammy nomination, LMFAO did not get their proper breakthrough till they released their first studio album, “Party Rock” in 2009. With the released of their single, “Party Rock Anthem”, they began to dominate charts and break records in earnest. Thus their mainstream career began and by their next single, “Sexy and I Know it”, they became known figures of the charts in this day. Their newest album, “Don’t Judge Me” is also doing quite well.
Sky Blu and Redfoo are also rappers and DJS, and they have developed, in their own words, a new genre a music they like to call “party rock”. They created this brand back in 2006 just as the “Winter Music Conference” was looming large. By the time they had their hit “Miami” out, it became something of a phenomenon to pronounce “I’m in Miami, Bitch” when attendees of the WMC came to Miami. After that, LMFAO produced hit after hit, some of them with the likes of “La La La” which they recorded with Lil’ John. Their other single, “Get Crazy” also received similar success.
LMFAO’s music and the content of the lyrics is all about partying and having fun. Their performance style also reflects this, and fans who go to their shows can always expect the duo to put on a show and execute outrageous performances that might even shock some. In 2010, LMFO went on their “Party Rock Tour” alongside Shwayze, Space Cowboy, Paradiso Girls, and Far East Movement. This became the first time that LMFAO Far East Movement tickets completely sold out.
The second half of the LMFAO Far East Movement collaboration is the group from Los Angeles, Far East Movement. It consists of Kev Nish, J Splif, Prohgress, and DJ Virman. Like LMFAO, they too have created their own brand of music they like to call “fly music”. They were first noticed when their single “Round Round” was featured in the film “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”. After that, it was one hit after the other. Their single “Like a G6” was a hit and sat comfortably on the top of the Billboard charts for several weeks. Another one of their singles, “Girls on the Dance Floor” also appeared on the Billboard charts and was the number one song on the local radio station of Los Angeles. They are also the first group of Asian American descent to have a top ten hit in the US.
The group is now signed to “Interscope Records” under their sub-label, “Cherrytree Records”.W With this new record deal, their released their first major label album called “Free Wired”. From this album, their single, “Like a G6” reached number one on both the Billboard charts, and on iTunes. Moreover, it reached double platinum in sales of the single alone.
Their beats are catchy and they are energetic performers, with the ability to captivate large audiences. In 2011, they were the opening act for Lady Gaga on her Japanese leg of the “Monster Ball Tour”. They have also performed on stage with Mike Posner. They have collaborated with Snoop Dogg, Ryan Teddar, Keri Hilson, Natalia Kills, and Lil Jon on both their own tracks and as guest performers on the other artists’ tracks. Thus the LMFAO Far East Movement concert will not be the first time that the group will perform alongside another band. Both groups are from the dance music genre and have a reputation for being outrageous, over the top performers. Their collaboration for this show is bound to attract an audience that is looking to party!
