About The Bodeans

In the year 1977 Sam Llanas and Kurt Neumann became friends at the Waukesha South High School. After realizing their talent they started writing songs and later on both of them decided to pursue their career in music. Da BoDeans, was the name selected by them and they started playing music along the East Side music scene of Milwaukee. In 1984, Guy Hoffman joined the band as the drummer and later on Bob Griffin was also included in the lineup who served as a bassist.
After struggling for some time The BoDeans started becoming known due to their passion and dedication. In the year 1987 they were named as the Best New American Band by Rolling Stone. In the very same year they released their second album titled Outside Looking In. This album contained music that had strong roots in rock music. Their single Only Love topped the charts and secured sixteenth position on the US Mainstream Rock charts. To further support the album they took their music to different parts of the world along with U2 on The Joshua Tree Tour, which increased their fan following to a great extent.
