The Runaways popularity skyrocketed as they not only came out with five hit LPs but also performed around the globe and opened for names like, Cheap Trick, Van Halen, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. A film based on the group was also produced in 2010. Unfortunately The Runaways disbanded in 1979 after the departure of Currie and Jett started to pursue a solo career.
