About David Nail

Nail was born David Brent Nail in 1979 in the small town of Kennett, Missouri. His father was a high school band director, whose large collection of records served as Nail’s exposure to music. Many of these records were by artists that Nail has gone on to cite as his major influences. These musicians included Elton John, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles and prominent country musician Glen Campbell.
Despite his love for music from an early age, Nail didn’t immediately think of it as a line of work. Being a self-proclaimed sports enthusiast, Nail was a gifted basketball and baseball player. He played sports during his youth and was offered many sports-based scholarships for college. It was at this time that Nail had a sudden change of heart and decided to pursue a career in music instead. During the 1990s, he recorded a full-length studio album for Mercury Records. However, the album was rejected by the label and was never released. This caused Nail to take a break from music and go back to sports. He coached a basketball team for a while and, after a five-year hiatus from music, returned to being a musician again. He signed a record deal with MCA Nashville and began to work on his album.
David Nail’s first album, I’m About to Come Alive, was released in August 2009. It was produced by Frank Liddel and Mike Wrucke and features a duet between Nail and Miranda Lambert. The album was met with widespread critical praise. Country Weekly gave the album a three and-a-half star rating and praised the single “Red Light.” The latter was one of three charting singles that the album produced, the others being “Turning Home” and “I’m About to Come Alive.” “Red Light” peaked at number seven on the U.S country charts whereas “Turning Home” reached number twenty. Almost overnight, David Nail became one of the most promising new artists in American country music.
On the heels of the success of his debut, Nail released his second full-length album in February 2011. The album was called The Sound of a Million Dreams and featured the song “Let It Rain.” The song features Sarah Buxton and became Nail’s first hit single. It reached number one on the Billboard Country Songs chart and number fifty-one of the Billboard Hot 100 chart
Since their release, both “Let It Rain” and “Red Light” have been certified Gold by the RIAA. “Turning Home” was even nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Male country Vocal Performance in 2011. A strong of praise for Nail is his dynamic musical style, which fuses pop with contemporary country music. It has often been compared to the “countrypolitan” genre of music that was popular during the 1960s. Nail’s singing prowess and voice also has been widely praised, being called everything from “bourbon-smooth” to “R & B-flavored.” Nail’s public persona has been very popular as well, with observers commenting that his “Sinatra-like levels of poise and class” elevate his craft to a level that is rarely seen in modern country music.
All these elements have come together to make David Nail one of the biggest new emergent artists in country music in recent years. Nail’s songs are about personal stories and are infused with a sophistication and grandeur that has been missing from the genre for decades.  His commitment to making a more mature brand of country music has made audiences and critics stand up and take notice.
Since his promising first album, David Nail has steadily but surely continued to gain mainstream success. He has cemented himself as the progenitor of a renaissance in country music. His shows are attended by ever-increasing number of people and are known for their soulful energy and overall liveliness. Due to this David Nails tickets are a highly sought-after commodity among his many fans as well as music enthusiasts in general. Cheap David Nails tickets are also widely available for anyone looking to have a good time.
