The creation of the band Chicago the band was wrought with a surgical approach towards music by a lot of students of music at one DePaul University. Their academic grounding coupled with musical street smarts resulted in an eclectic act that comprised of James Pankow on the trombone, pianist Robert Lang, trumpeter Lee Loughane, Terry Kath on the guitars an last but not least, Peter Cetera on the bass, who also served as vocal succor.
