About Carly Rae Jepsen Cher Lloyd Icona Pop

Hailing from British Columbia, Canada, Carly Rae Jepsen rose to national prominence back in 2007 when she appeared in the Canadian Idol’s season five. Jepsen finished at the third spot on the Canadian Idol, and later she went on a Top 3 Canadian Idol tour as well. Following the conclusion of the tour, Jepsen started focusing on her songwriting and music yet again and later she struck a record deal with MapleMusic Recordings. Following the record deal, Jepsen released her debut single as well as a cover version of John Denver’s hit single Sunshine of My Shoulders. On September 30, 2008 Jepsen finally released her debut album called Tug of War which was produced by Ryan Stewart. The album did fairly well, and following that she was seen performing live at various venues across the nation.
In 2011, she started working on her second studio album while being signed to 604 Records. As some of the songs were recorded for her album, Call Me May Be was chosen to be released as the first single from her second album. The single was released on September 21, 2011 in Canada and caught the attention of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. Following their tweet regarding that song, Jepsen tasted instant mainstream popularity for the very first time. Later in 2012, as Jepsen went on to visit Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun, she scored a record deal with School Boy Records and Interscope Records. At that point, it was decided not to release her second album yet, hence 604 Records released an E.P titled Curiosity which also features the track Call Me Maybe.
Her single Call Me Maybe became the first Canadian pop song singe Justin Bieber’s Baby to reach the #1 spot on the Digital Songs Chart. Apart from that, it also peaked the Canadian Hot 100 chart as well as the U.K Charts, making Jepsen the first ever Canadian Idol contestant to do so. On September 13, 2012 Jepsen came up with her second studio album called Kiss which became her first ever internationally released studio album. The album debuted at the #6 spot on the Billboard 200 and received positive reviews by most of the critics. The album also charted in Canada and several other countries as well. She also received two Grammy Award nominations as well as the Juno Awards in 2013. Her song, Call Me Maybe, from the album turned out to be a huge international success fetching millions of views online.
Cher Lloyd on the other hand rose to mainstream popularity when she appeared on the X Factor’s seventh series and finished the series at fourth place. Shortly after the conclusion of the show, she was offered a record deal with Syco Records. In July 2011, Lloyd released her debut single called Swagger Jagger which peaked at UK Singles Chart. Joining Lloyd and Jepsen would be a DJ duo from Sweden Icona Pop. The duo was formed back in 2009, and garnered popularity with the release of their hit single I Love It.  When all of these three acts join in to perform at the same night, the event surely is to be a memorable one.
