About The Brothers Cazimero

Seems like the aim of the Brothers Cazimero is to push the boundaries of music and create a whole new variety and range of music to muck around with. This variety in their music makes their tickets and concerts always stand out from the rest, as these performances are more of a celebration of life and music and not merely a concert. Staring form intimate clubs to packed stadiums, the duo really knows how to turn dull evenings into lively ones. The duo includes, bassist, Robert Cazimero and the twelve string guitarist Roland Cazimero. Robert is also a piano player which he plays as a solo musician.
The band formed with ukulele and slack-key guitarist Peter Moon's band, the Sunday Manoa. The Ukulele is a musical instrument and belongs to the guitar family with four courses of strings. They posses unmatched talent and their sales speak of that, as they cross over all others of their league. They stay untouched by all their contemporaries while firmly holding their position for the number one spot. During the early seventies the Hawaiian music culture started resurging in the region and new path was laid while keeping in mind the musical trends of the place. The leaders guiding others of their likes with a torch in their hand were definitely the Brothers Cazimero. Their music formed the basis of inspiration for many. New interest in the Hawaiian music and language came to surface and the locals were seen to take more interest in their own music and culture rather than that coming from across the shores.
Till date the Brothers Gazimeros have a total of thirty six recordings and three DVDs. They have been performing at the annual Lei Day Concert for the past thirty years now. Their fans love them deeply and dearly and their collection of awards speaks for it. They are the proud winners of twenty five Na Hoku Hanohano Awards bestowed upon them by the very prestigious Hawaii Academy of Performing Arts. They also received a nomination for the Best Hawaiian Album in 2005 for Some Call It Aloha…Don’t Tell. The following year they became inductees to the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame.
Other notable endeavors of Roland include, joining the very famous Hawaiian vocalist Henry Kapono Kaaihue, Cyril Pahinui and Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole for an amazing recording "Broken Promise.” The song became a huge success among listeners and won not one but two Hoku Awards in 1992. It won an Award for “Song of the Year” and “Single of the Year” Award. The brother started experimenting with music while they were in their youth years and ever since then they have contributed nonstop to the classical brand of Hawaiian music.
Some of their best albums include, Proud To Be, Destination Paradise and many more. Seems like they have an album for every occasion with Caz Christmas they give their fans a chance to celebrate the festival in full fervor.
