Amjad Ali Khan Tickets

Ustad Amjad Ali Khan is a legendary classical Indian musician who was born to a family of musicians in 1945. At a young age of six, Khan delivered his first sarod recital that was taught by his applauded father, Haafiz Ali Khan. Since then, he has developed a love and respect for the timelessness of the traditional music. He is a living example of a person who has demonstrated the integration of the two big forces of his life which is music and love. Mr. Khan masterfully plays sarod which is a guitar-like stringed music instrument mainly used to play the Indian classical music.  The rounded back of Khan’s favorite instrument is made out of wood while the flat belly is made from the goat skin. The sound of twenty five steel strings of the instrument remains subtle yet expressive in the hands of none other but Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. The career path of this living legend grew at the speed of light once he had brought in a fresh yet timeless perspective to sarod.  The Songlines World Music Magazine remarked about him as “one of the twentieth century’s greatest masters of the sarod” in 2003.
